Ask Not What Your Website Can Do For You, Ask What You Can Do For Your Website!
By: Taban Khajehnassiri

We are all citizens of the cyberspace, we live online, we communicate online, we make friends online, we build up mutual cooperations and relationships. This is your own cyberspace, your online environment. I am now writing this to all of us, ask not what your cyberspace can do for you, ask what you can do for your cyberspace!

You have a website. You have a domain name and you have a web space. You live online just like many others. You have your own language, your own culture, your own history, your own traditions, your own country, now you have your own domain, and your domain is just your domain name. For your own domain, you are the master, you can do whatever you want, but there are international rules that you have to obey, the international laws, rules and regulations, copyrights and even more, you have to respect other peoples, other individuals, they are watching you, just like big brothers. For your own domain, you are a slave, you are a common user, you are a consumer, a client and even a buyer. You are the same visitor who has to visit your (own) site every single day. You click links of your pages, you test your pages while you are online, you send e-mails to yourself to check out your e-mails functioning properly. You are the master and your the slave of your own website. You are the client and you are the server of your own dreams. After a long day of working hard, you sit down and relax, thinking to yourself: "I am the master of my own web! I'm OK, the site's OK."

Now, I am talking to you, the owner of this domain. You are the master, but, ask not what your domain can do for you, ask not what your website can do for you, ask not what your webpages can do for you, ask not what your E-Zine can do for you, ask not what your subscribers can do for you, ASK what you can do for your domain, for your website, for your webpages, for your own newsletter, your own subscribers and readers!

Now, I am addressing you, the visitors of this domain, the citizens of this domain, you readers, you subscribers of this domain, you are also the master of this domain, it is because of you this domain exists, it's just because of you clients, prospects that this website's working, ask not what this domain can do for you, ask not what this website can do for you, ASK what you can do for the website you are NOW visiting. You can read, you can write, you can talk to the webmaster(s), you can listen to his (/her) words, you can see he (/she) is trying - trying hard for a domain and it is always appreciated: your feedback will help, your comments will lead them, your criticisms are valued.

We are all citizens of the cyberspace, we live online, we communicate online, we make friends online, we build up mutual cooperations and relationships. This is your own cyberspace, your own online environment. I am now writing this to all of us, ask not what your cyberspace can do for you, ask what you can do for your cyberspace!
