This brief article first published electronically as the editorial of WWN . Yes, if I had to do it over again, I would again buy that 386DX 25 MHz IBM compatible computer and learn how to work with it the same way as I could start it more than ten years ago.
Sometimes, it is so hard to say or even think about it, but in case of
facing problems and mistakes we have made in past during our life time, or
better to say our business, it is a must that we accept and stop thinking,
acting and taking the wrong way.
Yes, if I had to do it over again, I would again buy that 386DX 25 MHz IBM
compatible computer and learn how to work with it the same way as I could
start it more than ten years ago. That's it, I would buy that 2400
Internal Fax/modem (Very New and the state-of-the-art technology at that
time) and try to connect BBS's and then the Internet. When I started with
Mavara BBS here in Tehran, I sent out my first message in the BBS
initiating the idea of a needed weekly newsletter informing other users
of updates, news and articles in forums, - some of our current subscribers
may recall it very clear, please write to us if you are still among our
subscribers and/or readers and if you still remember it - then gradually, I
continued to form it as what is now known throughout the world among
Iranian net users and even from other nationalities as Webfaqt Weekly
News. Yes, it is true again, if I had to do it over again, I would send
that message to the public forum of that BBS that we needed a newsletter.
But if I had to do it over again, on the Internet, I would not start my web
site on and by using free web spaces on the net because I did not want to
do it as a fun or funny stuff. I was really very serious about what I was
trying for. If I had to do it over again, I would not even add the URL of
those free web spaces to SE's. I would not even start this newsletter
promoting those free URLs of my sites. I would register my own domain name
first and start my newsletter officially recognized.
If I had to start my newsletter, I would not start it FREE, I would not
archive it on my web site, I would not send it to subscribers with all the
needed information on it, I would send it much more briefly, only some
headlines and then links to further info on pages on my web site. If I had
to write this editorial over again, I would not even write it this way
repeating the phrase "if I had to do it over again" over and over and over
again which can be considered as Spam by some Search Engines over again.
That's a point of view. And controversial again. What Do You Think?
