Why A Web Site, Yes! Why Another Site, No!
By: Taban Khajehnassiri

The article presented first as an editorial of WWN JUL 29, 2000. It takes time for viewers back to the site after their first visit unless the site draws them back as a result of her own good services and/or content.

Sometimes, it is a pity that we see some companies (among many others) enjoying a web site on the Internet expect many many viewers a day or a week for their own sites while they have forgotten some basic rules of playing (in designing and constructing their site) and the viewpoints of those who have connected to their sites for the very first time.

Sure, it takes time for viewers back to the site after their first visit unless the site draws them back as a result of her own good services and/or content. The present-day viewers of web sites on the World Wide Web, have much in common: They are all human beings, they use computers, modems and ISPs to make connections, and they know to which web site say 'YES' and to which ones say 'NO'.

They are looking for something (perhaps new) on the net, if it is information or while surfing aimlessly and just for another little bit of fun, net users are after something, somthing clearly updated and in case reasonable. I believe it is easier to ignore the importance of design, structure and content in setting up a web site or a web page and forget all about viewers needs, but just for Heaven Sake, Love God and his People! It is really important and vital when we are talking about people and their precious time and money.

The answer to your web site MUST be a big big and loud loud 'YES, that's what I was looking for ...' Try to find out the ways of creating such emotions! Practically saying, there is no 'YES' to a web site that is ugly, designed with no thought or clear idea in the background, hard to read, hard to download, hard to find the topics and subjects or required information. Try to construct simple and beautiful pages easy to work with, to surf around. A good web site is a well-designed house, structural and firm.

It's easy to see and read the outlines, make appropriate outlines for your content and provide your viewers with clear shortcuts to what you intend to present at the site. Not surprisingly, we all know why a web site, YES! Why another site, NO! As webmasters, you must know these too, predict some and conduct your designs based on them. We are all looking for a little bit of information over here and there on the net... a little bit of customers, a little bit of feedback, a little bit of sales, a little bit of fun and even a little bit of ... !

To make this important point clear here, let me brief it in this way that people (your sites' viewers) do know why your web site 'YES', or 'No'! Although the whole process is hidden in their mind, it becomes obvious to you as the webmaster the results and the answer when viewers come back to your site or not, when they talk about your site (conducting WOM -Word Of Mouth) or not.
